For awhile an automated spam bot has been using my contact form, apparently under the impression that it was a blog. At first I was amused and thought I would just let it stay, make the spam-bot waste some bandwidth. I got tired of it tonight, though, and added a little safeguard. It's a really stupid-simple form of captcha, the same as is used on Scott Stevenson's site. It's just a text box that asks you to enter the current year. The same safeguard was added to my blog's comment form awhile ago. That should at least be enough to stop the current bot.
I really would prefer to spend my time doing things other than fighting spam.

You could spend your time fighting crime, but i believe that requires a reasonable capital investment for the car, the lair, and above all: the cape!

Spam is stupid now hacking through redundant firewalls and unlocking heavily encoded files THAT is where the fun is!!!!
