I experienced a bit of a setback with Solon recently upon learning about how much money was involved in establishing a business to sell a product across the US. Basically, I was told that I would need to file for a license of sorts for each state I wanted to sell in. The cost for Utah's license is $12. Twelve dollars times fifty states is not a sum of money I can really afford to put out right now.
My father had the idea to call for help from people who were (and apparently still are) active in the NeXTstep community. The response has been overwhelming. Various suggestions and offers to help test came pouring in. One reply even came from someone who works at Apple. At least, I would assume the person works at Apple, given as the e-mail came from an apple.com e-mail address.
That's just freaking awesome.
I'm preparing the disk image for the beta right now. Packing it up will take awhile. Since this is a Mac product, I want even the disk image for the beta to be nice and pretty and polished ^_^.
I might actually be able to sell this thing soon. That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
