I just moved the site over to the new design. I'll be tweaking it over the next few days, but I'm glad to have it up.
This design came together far quicker than any other design I've done. A significant reason for that is undoubtedly because it's so simple. I don't think I've ever done such a minimalist design before. It's kind of refreshing to have the site be so much lighter than before.
I also liked how quickly I was able to transition everything over to the almost totally different look. I guess my efforts in separation of content and presentation paid off. I only needed to change attributes in CSS files, for the most part. I only tweaked a bit of HTML and I didn't need to touch any backend code at all.
